From Schoolyard Binders to Premium Slabs

The story behind Slabify TCG.

Our Journey

I’ve been hooked since the late 90s, opening those original Base Set packs and trading in the schoolyard like everyone else. But my journey into the truly serious side of the hobby really evolved over the last several years.

As I grew older, my focus shifted from just completing binders to understanding market liquidity, the intricacies of card grading, and the preservation of high-value slabs. I realized that beyond the pure nostalgia, there is a dynamic, fascinating market for graded assets. I built Slabify TCG because I wanted to create a space that respects both the deep emotional connection we have to these cards and the serious, financial reality of trading premium slabs.

The Standard We Set

It is incredibly tough to pick a favorite, but my crown jewel right now is a pristine PSA 10 Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art from Evolving Skies. While I love the vintage classics, this card represents everything I look for in the modern hobby. The artwork is breathtaking, but from a trading perspective, it is the ultimate example of a highly liquid, culturally significant chase card. It embodies exactly the kind of top-tier, strictly graded quality that I am passionate about sourcing, holding, and offering on this platform.

Why Bitcoin?

When you are dealing in high-value, graded slabs, trust, security, and fluidity are absolutely everything. I prefer BTC because it completely eliminates the friction and anxiety of traditional payment gateways.

There are no arbitrary holds, no middleman fees cutting into the margins, and most importantly, no risk of fraudulent chargebacks after a high-end card has been shipped out. The settlement is borderless and final. Plus, there is a massive crossover between hard-asset card collectors and the crypto space—both communities deeply understand the value of verifiable scarcity, condition, and decentralized exchange. Using BTC just makes high-end trading smoother, faster, and infinitely more secure for both sides of the transaction.
